South Florida's last and largest Pride event of 2009 is coming up on June 19-21, and Pride weekend presents a number of great opportunities to volunteer with the Human Rights Campaign.

On Friday evening June 19th HRC is co-sponsoring Stonewall's Cinema Under the Stars in Oakland Park's Jaco Pastorius Park which is located at Dixie Highway and NE 38th Street. We need volunteers from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. to staff this event and to work the HRC membership and merchandise table in the Park.

On Saturday evening June 20th we will have a contingent in the Stonewall Parade and we're looking for volunteers to march with us.   In commemoration of this year's  40th anniversary of the Stonewall Rebellion we plan to dress in 1960s corporate attire and carry signs recreating the earliest public protests for LGBT equality.  1960s drag or not, we would love to have you march with us on Saturday evening between 6 and 10 p.m.

Finally, South Florida's favorite event of the year - the Stonewall Street Festival on Wilton Drive - takes place between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.   We will be staffing a booth at the festival and have divided the day into two shifts:  11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

We need your help at either shift (or both) when we will be signing up new members, selling HRC merchandise, and engaging passers-by to talk about the work of HRC.
